The Papyrus Canary, also known as Van Someren's Canary (Serinus koliensis) is a species of passerine bird in the finch family Fringillidae.
It is found in Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda.[1] It is found primarily in papyrus stends at altitudes of between 900 and 1600 m, but is also found in cultivation near highland papyrus. It always builds its nests in papyrus stands, using papyrus leaves as the main material.[2]
It has been obtained by Antonio Arnaiz-Villena et al.[3]
